Robbie started playing volleyball at the Lake Calhoun sand courts back in high school and while he admits to starting off quite horrendously, he fell in love with the sport and kept improving his skills. In college he played intramural level & eventually for the University of St Thomas men's club team, which was created his Junior year.  Robbie is excited to be coaching his 3rd season at Southwest this year.  In addition to coaching B Squad teams at SW, he's coached JO seasons at Centennial Volleyball Club and in Park Center.   When not coaching volleyball Robbie is also a Track Coach at Southwest and works full time as an ESL teacher in Minneapolis. Nicole Sweeney

JV Coach

Nicole started playing volleyball in middle school, and quickly fell in love with it. She played throughout high school, and in many intramural leagues when she moved to Minnesota to attend St. Catherine University. While at St. Kate's, she began coaching volleyball at Vital Volleyball Club. Also around that time, she began her career in personal training. This is where she discovered her passion for helping athletes of all ages become stronger, faster and move more efficiently.

She looks forward to helping the Lakers do the same. It will be a wonderful season of hard work, good laughs & great volleyball!
